Handover day is the real date
New homes around Silsden, Steeton, Long Lee and Bingley often complete later than the first letter. Plot numbers change, roads are unfinished, and the sales office may not allow a large van onto the site. Book a house removal against a likely week, and keep the day movable until the developer confirms the key.
Ask the site team three things
- Where delivery vans are allowed to stop.
- Whether the road surface will take a loaded van.
- What time the key will actually be released, and who hands it over.
Send us those answers. A photo of the plot entrance helps. If you are also leaving a house the same day, say so. A late key at the new end is how furniture sits in a van on a street that is not finished.
What to pack for the first night
Keep a kettle, mugs, bedding, towels, phone chargers, toilet roll and the new keys in your own car. The plot may have no curtains and no broadband. Do not put those essentials in the last box on the van.
If there is a gap between selling and the handover, storage can cover it. Get a free quote or call 01535321350 when you have the plot address, even if the date is still “that week”. Insurance is provided. Ask us what is covered when you book.
