Cullingworth is a hill village between the Worth Valley and Bingley, on the road that crosses from Keighley toward the Bingley side of the district. From Parkwood Street it is a run over the hills rather than along the Aire. The village centre is compact. Many houses are stone terraces and semis on roads that climb out toward the moor, with newer homes mixed in. A van can usually reach the centre. The lanes on the edges are narrower, and winter ice sits longer than it does in Keighley town. Cullingworth Village Primary School is on New School Lane, so the school run is the busiest ordinary traffic. There is no railway station in the village. Bingley station is the nearest mainline stop, down the hill. People also drive to Keighley for the tip, the hospital route and larger shops. Postcodes are BD13, which surprises anyone who assumes every Keighley village is BD20 or BD22. Bradford Council handles council tax and bins. Insurance is provided.
