Stanbury is a small village on the moor above Haworth, not a suburb you reach without noticing the climb. From Parkwood Street you go up the Worth Valley and then out of Haworth toward the reservoir and the open hill. Houses are stone cottages and short terraces. Main Street is narrow. A furniture van is a large object in a lane built for a cart. Some homes sit further out, with a track, a bend or a gate that a photo will explain faster than a postcode. Stanbury Village School is on Main Street, so even a small school run changes the only road through the village. Visitor traffic to the moor and to Haworth spills this way in good weather. There is no shop parade and no station. Haworth station, on the heritage line, is down in Haworth. Keighley station is the mainline. Postcodes are BD22. Bradford Council handles council tax and bins. Weather matters. Wind and ice on the exposed road are a reason to start later, not earlier, on some mornings. Insurance is provided. Ask us what is covered when you book.
